Tom Brady And Insider Trading

A new report from Ted Wells (don’t worry if you don’t know who he is, neither do we) shows that Tom Brady was “at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities” of two Patriots employees who were deflating footballs.

Remind you of anything? Here’s a hint:

Yep. Even if you didn’t “do” it, if you know you’re doing something that you probably shouldn’t do (i.e. like, it’s illegal) and you still go along with it, you’re guilty.

But the most bizzaro thing about all of this isn’t that Brady may have been aware of the deflated balls and didn’t do anything to report it. It’s what the locker room attendant, Jim McNally who is being accused of deflating the balls, asked for in return for deflating the balls.

In return for deflating a few game balls, the report shows that McNally asked for cash (obvy)…..and shoes. Yes. Shoes.

We’re no insider traders over here but we would’ve asked for more cash, so that we could buy more shoes. Mostly because the whole getting the shoe size thing right sounds like a nightmare.

“I deflated the balls, but the shoe size is wrong. Go back, try again.” Clearly this whole sting operation was destined to get bungled from the beginning.

Was the chink in the chain or hair in the burrito that McNally oddly demand shoes or was it the text conversations where McNally said he wanted “to turn a football into a “balloon“? ”

We’ll never know. What we do know is things like this usually don’t end well for your personal stock.
